A much long overdue post, obviously. But still doing it nonetheless to fill up this empty space. This year I decided to chance a return to the old hometown for the new year. I never really thought about it, but apparently it's been close to ten years since I've last gone back. Back in the hey days I was much preoccupied by relationships to have bothered, and perhaps it turned into habit too even after the relationship dissolved years after. I admit it's pretty bad of me to have neglected family gatherings like these for so long, but to be honest I don't even mingle much even when I do go back. I'm the second oldest kid there and the rest of the kiddos are of much younger ages, so I don't hang around much. And I complain too much, really. And well true to that, I pretty much just sat around and watched Running Man on my iPad mini all day during my stay. I swear I finished more than ten episodes over my 2.5 days in Malacca, and that's with each episode 1.5 hours long. You can imagine my boredom, yawn. I think I ate a lot too. Someone definitely needs to keep those mini fried prawn rolls away from me.

And tadaaaaa, Christmas is coming! Whoop whoop! Ah, my all time favorite season of the year. Let's be real, such festivities should really be here all year round to keep the moods on high, oui? I should think so. Eat too much, drink too much and spend too much. Okay so my family isn't exactly into all that celebration and gift giving activities and whatnot, but hey it's still a time to appreciate the holidays and look forward to the start of another new year, yeah? This year round, the eve of Christmas will definitely be spent with the family for a meal before I fly off to Taiwan for the long holiday. I'm stoked about what mom's gonna be cooking up (or rather I'll be demanding the choice of dishes), and I'm definitely excited about leaving the country for a break. The timing couldn't be better.

Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllo. Once again, I apologize for my absence. I believe my lack in motivation to type out posts comes on and off, and some times I just poop a whole lot at one go. Well so this is pretty much a rare update after some time, I'll be doing the pooping thing once again if not I'll never get down to it.
So what's up guys?
1) Let's start with a selfie here. Not your everyday #ootd picture, obviously. To prove a point that I have not given up hope on fitness torture, I present you with a random picture taken of newly bought workout wear. Is it just me or fitness wear is just so addictive? Ever since I've been sucked into the fitness hole I've been so into buying more workout clothes. Uh, weird. Especially when I only workout at home and no one can actually see them. But the colors are oh so pretty I sometimes just can't resist. Even while sweating balls, I need to workout in style. Whoop.
2) And here's the contradiction in my next point: FOOD. Food galore never ever stops. Of course, take these in moderation. Fitness is still key and my main motto. Okay I digressed, below we have fantastic sushi rolls and sashimi from The Sushi Bar @ Far East Plaza. So so goooooooooooood. My friend and I ordered seconds for the Aburi Salmon Roll cause they were that good. The queue is a mega pain though, but for the love of Japanese food I'm always in.
Aglio Olio for me at The Garden Slug. Burger for the friend but had to sneak a pic since it was really good too. The Garden Slug is extremely far from home and inconvenient for me, so thank goodness for J's car. I always opt for the 'ulu' makan places whenever I meet him hehe. The Coastal Settlement (another 'ulu' desertion) after for a taste of Bread Butter Pudding and tea. Great hangout, albeit the furthest location ever. Just FYI, I stay in the West, anything North or East is just plain agony for me.
3) Random capture at the Changi Beach Park. Reminds me that my next holiday is coming soon! Not too enthusiastic about the place, but stepping out of town always makes me excited nonetheless. Taiwan, are you ready for me?
4) My gorgeous best friend. It's amazing how we only really got close after Poly days on a random catch up session. Ma chicka. Most weekends have been our usual meet ups, spent indulging on our #cheatdays, shopping way too much, and lounging way too long at Starbucks. We finally got round to trying the raved Antoinette desserts last Saturday, and man do they burn a hole in the pocket. But they were good, no doubt. Funny candid moment when I was attempting to take K's picture and two of the servers stood right behind. Thanks to the grand chairs, she looked all mighty Queen-like. And Queen indeed, because guess who bought a new bag?? Oh these moments always excite me to no end. You need to be just as bag-obsessed to understand. Really.
5) And we end off with a happy family potrait. Manbok with the fambam the other day. Finally tried Korean BBQ the true style and it was really good. Pricey but all so worth it. Camwhore moments as usual, and my mom says we camwhore too much. I wonder where those genes come from, mm?

Last week I met up with the best friend Kim for dinner. A post birthday meal for her, which didn't turn out too good. Have never tried Bangkok Jam before, but I'd heard of good reviews. My past love used to be Thai Express (yes, I'm pretty easy to please with food regardless). And my second favorite food after Japanese food is Thai. Given my bad throat luck in Bangkok recently, we decided to try out this new branch at Jem the other day. What a bad idea. The queue was massive long and the service was, simply put atrocious. I can never stand for sloppy wear in general, much less in service. There was this dude who's attire was such a turn off I was honestly almost scared for him to serve us. What if he picked him bum and all that? Um eww. We ordered three dishes, of which unfortunately for them they chose to serve mine the last which took the longest. Obviously they forgot my order, cause later guests were getting served before me. My Phad Thai took a whole half hour and four calls before it was finally served. Mr Flop Guy also ignored my check-my-order request and just continued on clearing his table while I stared daggers at him. Not cool. I made sure to complain about the shit head and demanded no service charge to be included. I really should've ask for further discount, lucky for them I couldn't bother anymore. I wouldn't say food's bad though, it was pretty good in fact, but the damper set by the service staff would not make me want to head there anytime soon. Or at least till they switch a whole new team.
Friday night drinks with Tristan. Dude was just back again from Australia on semester break, and as usual we always hit the pubs whenever he's back. Catching up is always fun. Really glad I made this friend (thanks to the ex-boyfriend) and managed to keep in contact even after the 'saga'. As always, I never fail to badger him in making time to bring me around Oz soon. I thrive on attaining free tour guides heh. Dude's heading to Europe next week to backpack for three whole weeks! I'm extremely jealous you cannot imagine!! Urgh the joys of being male and being able to travel alone, or maybe I'm just too scared myself. Next year. Next year I must head to somewhere further.
And beforeI end off abruptly, check out my new picture frame that I mentioned from last week. Now how pretty is that man. Naturally, I'm no girly girl and pink is definitely not my choice of color, but somehow it was chosen back then as my room color, so that explains the pink walls. But doesn't the frame just look swell with it? Always been into decorating my room, and with this it's just another new step. Best memories framed up, mom and dad, my travels, and mom with the sister and I. I actually have tons more, but as you can tell my side cupboard is also filling up fast. Time for more frames. And I can't wait to gather more memories from around the world.
